Mysterious Island
In 1935-1936 there was a radio show called "Mysterious Island" in this program a woman named Mrs. McGreggor, whose daughter has been lost on an island somewhere in the south pacific for 14 years. She had know idea what had become of her daughter but continued searching. Until she heard the report that a sailor had escaped from a magical island and he told of the "strange happenings" and "strange native inhabitants" who the sailor reported had seen a young white girl living with the inhabitants.
The crazy thing is, that these "natives" arent natives at all. After a few episodes it is revealed that these people are a group of scientists studying the bizarre island and its strange MAGNETIC FIELD surrounding it. This magnetic field blocks the island from view by the naked eye and actually causes boats and the like to change course to go around the island. The only way onto the island is by following a certain barring. Other noteable LOST connections are of course the stolen daughter for 14 years, the strange electromagnetic field protecting and powering the island, the strange group of scientists studying, and experimenting on the island.
A powerful force (which certain individuals can harness) that allows you to create anything you need in a manner of seconds. The island is called Euclidea much like Euclidean Space which is just space. NO TIME.
so this island. has a magnetic field hiding it from detection AND the island is in a state of NO TIME. or bizarre time, hence the name Euclidea.
Now people if that doesnt sound like a connection i dont know what does. The radio show is on itunes, on this old radio show podcast called : old time radio sci fi.
