I tillegg til "Lost" har Giacchinos verk spredd seg over flere prosjekter. Han har komponert musikkstykker for de kjente filmene "Mission Impossible: III","The Incredibles" og JJ Abrams mystiske monsterfilm, "Cloverfield". Han fikk sin første Oscar-nominasjon for Pixar-filmen "Ratatouille" og er nå blant de 105 som har blitt invitert til å være med i "the Academy". Beverly Hills, CA – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 105 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures.
